Human MAb Generation

Kaneka offers technology solutions for monoclonal antibody (MAb) generation. In 2007, Kaneka initiated a MAb discovery program under a strategic alliance with Evec Inc., a Japanese bio-venture that has developed unique technologies to generate “fully human MAb” isolated from human peripheral B-lymphocytes. The Kaneka/Evec alliance provides pharmaceutical companies with “fully human MAb” from Evec's pipeline and a unique R&D collaboration to discover customer's desirable “fully human MAb.”

Evec's MAb Generation Technologies

Evec's key technology is human MAb generation using the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) transformation. Evec has also specialized technologies to isolate new Human MAbs from the human B-lymphocytes immortalized by EBV infection.
